Join us for our Monthly Chapter Meeting

Tour and Presentation, BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham

About the event:

Join us for a presentation and tour of the largest Hindu Mandir temple in the United States. The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham captures thousands of years of spiritual values through art, architecture and culture. We will experience the beauty of this majestic architectural masterpiece, learning about the masonry techniques used in its construction using only stone, without the use of any metal reinforcement. Learn of the spiritual mission of the organization which includes among other goals addressing environmental concerns, from planting to energy and water conservation. 

Instructions for arrival:

When you arrive at the campus, park in an available lot and go to the bronze idol called Shri Nilkanth Varni in the area called Nilkanth Plaza, where everyone can meet to walk into the Welcome Center together.

Agenda:

4:30 pm – 4:45 pm Meet in front of the large bronze idol of Shri Nilkanth Varni in the Nilkanth Plaza

4:55 pm – We will walk over to the Welcome Center to check-in

5:00 pm – 5:15 pm Check in at the Welcome Center

5:15 pm – 5:25 pm Overview at the Orientation Theater

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm Guided Tour

6:30 pm – 7:15 pm Arrive at the 2nd floor of the Welcome Center for Q&A, our chapter meeting and refreshments

Due to the tour requirements, for this NJ IFMA chapter program, we will experience the tour first, followed by our chapter meeting, networking and refreshments.

Dress Code:

As a place of worship, and to be respectful of our hosts’ requirements, visitors are asked to adhere to appropriate dress. Please note the following: 

• No footwear will be allowed inside the Mahamandir. It is recommended that you wear socks
• No sleeveless or low-cut tops
• No shorts, skirts, or dresses above knee length
• No clothing that reveals the shoulders, chest, back or knees
• No clothing containing offensive language or imagery
